Yarra Valley Water contracts Teccura to identify revenue losses

Mitcham, Australia and Reading, U.K. — (METERING.COM) — December 10, 2010 – Australian water utility Yarra Valley Water has contracted utility revenue analysis and recovery analysts Teccura to identify commercial sites that may be consuming more water than they are paying for.

The agreement will allow Yarra Valley Water to identify any unbilled revenue across their entire portfolio of commercial customers. Working closely with The Yarra Valley Water team, Teccura will use its techniques and technology to identify, quantify and recover revenue that would previously have gone unaccounted for.

“Across Melbourne, per capita water use is down 40 percent compared with the 1990s,” explained Tony Kelly, managing director of Yarra Valley. “Households and industry have worked hard to reduce water use despite increasing storages water is still a precious resource and we should all be accountable for the water used.”

Yarra Valley Water provides water supply and sewerage services to over 1.6 million people in the northern and eastern catchment area of Melbourne, Australia.
