Landis+Gyr Enermet have signed a five-year full-service contract for an AIM advanced metering solution with Staffanstorps Energi AB from south-western Sweden
Staffanstorps, Sweden — (METERING.COM) — March 29, 2007 – Landis+Gyr Enermet (LGE) have signed a five-year full-service contract for an AIM advanced metering solution with Staffanstorps Energi AB from South-Western Sweden. The project will be completed by summer 2008, when all of Staffanstorps Energi’s customers will benefit from the automatic metering management (AMM) solution.
Staffanstorps Energi is a forerunner when it comes to embracing new technologies; for example, the utility has recently invested in new types of network stations, resulting in higher reliability of services and reduced maintenance costs.
The communication methods of the AIM system to be implemented are based on low voltage PLC and GPRS. This combination, together with the AIM system architecture, gives a cost-efficient solution with high performance throughout the entire life-time of the system.
LGE is in charge of whole turnkey project. Staffanstorps Energi’s field staff will utilize handheld PDAs integrated with the application AIM Site Manager. In the service phase LGE will be responsible for the operation, including system and field maintenance. LGE will provide Staffanstorps Energi with the requested metering data, ad hoc readings and reports. The solution offers flexibility, and Staffanstorps Energi will be able to do ad hoc readings of real-time values or historical data from their own customer service solution.
"Staffanstorps Energi is prepared to utilize the system in the future in order to develop its customer service and to adopt tariff control," says Network Manager Stefan Wessmén.
