Israel’s smart water meter manufacturer Arad is part of a consortium that has won a tender for the French region of Savoie, covering 80,000 residents.
Arad’s French distributor Smarteo Water joins French start-up Connit, which develops machine-to-machine applications, and SIGFOX, a new entrant to France’s cellular telecoms market.
Th smart water meter units will transmit consumption data to a long-range radio transmitter, developed by Connit, which then sends the data to a dedicated cellular network created by SIGFOX, which in turn communicates usage to customers through smart phones or a website.
