In Denmark, Østkraft, the electrical utility for the regional municipality of Bornholm, has issued a tender for a turnkey remotely read metering solution.
The energy supplier is seeking a complete delivery, installation, implementation and service of approximately 26,000 electronic remotely read electricity meters.
The contract stipulates that the supplier must dispose of existing electric meters after deployment according to Danish energy regulation.
The sole supplier must also deliver a complete IT system for data collection and data transfer to the common data hub, including complete commissioning and data exchange between energinet.dk, the owner and operator of Denmark’s electricity and gas transmission networks, and internal settlement at Østkraft.
The data acquisition system must be able to receive energy data from 2,000 buildings fitted with Landis+Gyr remotely read electricity meters, and use these data in its own single operating system.
Requirements for meters are based on standards set by the industry and Østkraft, both national and international, including EU requirements.
The rollout is expected to be take approximately three years.
