Dutch energy services provider Feenstra has signed an agreement with telecoms operator Tele2 Netherlands to supply remote-monitoring services.
Swedish-owned Tele2 will install SIM cards in appliances installed by Fenstra such as gas-powered boilers.
The operator’s roaming agreement with telecom competitors will ensure these systems can be read remotely by Feenstra employees from anywhere in the country.
Feenstra cites Tele2’s roaming capability as a distinct advantage over other solutions it was considering as it ensures that the strongest signal is used to convey data at each location.
Henjo Groenewegen, chief executive of Feenstra, said: “Together with Tele2, we have been looking at how we can continuously improve our operations.
“If we can always see where our mechanics are, we can optimize our logistics planning at any time.
“We are not only faster to our customers, but can also more accurately predict when we will be there.”
Tele2 will also provide fixed lines in Feenstra offices and mobile services for more than 1,500 technicians.
