Eastern Europe goes wireless

Slovenia - Story

Slovenia, Europe—(METERING.COM)—June 29, 2006 – CMC Ekocon, a full-service water management organization in Slovenia, has been chosen by a local utility to deploy an AMR solution in the first ever large-scale wireless water meter venture in Eastern Europe.

Koper Water Works, the municipal water utility which awarded the AMR implementation, has stated that the project is based on the need for better management of resources, the faster retrieval of meter consumption data and an accurate billing system.

The project will take place over three years and will use Coronis’s Wavenis system, which relies on data flow from a transceiver connected to each water meter, enabling value-added services, meter data storage and remote response.
