Madrid, Spain — (METERING.COM) — May 4, 2009 – Endesa has unveiled a new deregulated market tariff, affording customers a discount of up to 12 percent on current regulated market prices.
The new tariff guarantees a fixed electricity price up to December 31, 2009 for customers with power requirements of over 15 kW, representing an 8 percent discount on the currently applicable regulated market prices. Moreover, customers who sign up for the new tariff before May 31 will benefit from a further 2-4 percent discount, depending on their particular electricity distribution zone.
In a statement Endesa says the new tariff illustrates its commitment to fostering deregulation of the energy market.
The Spanish electricity sector was deregulated on January 1, 2003.
Endesa currently has 1.4 million electric and more than 850,000 gas customers in the deregulated energy market.
