Tbilisi, Georgia — (METERING.COM) — January 6, 2009 – Georgian utility ENERGO Pro Georgia has reported that it has invested approximately GEL210 million (US$150 million) in the implementation of metering and grid rehabilitation projects since July 2007.
To date approximately 260,000 customers have received new meters. Investments in the distribution sector have totalled €25 million (US$34 million).
ENERGO Pro Georgia attributes these works to its ability to deliver stable electricity supply to customers throughout the Christmas and New Year period. Despite increased electricity demand during the holidays, and the severe weather conditions with intensive snow, there were no shutdowns in electricity supply, the company said in a statement.
The company also plans to continue making investments in metering and grid rehabilitation, in order to increase the quality and security of electricity supply.
