GrDF has selected Atos Worldgrid, an international subsidiary of Atos, for handling the overall integration of France’s gas smart meter program.
In the 3-year project, which has a value more than €10 million, Atos Worldgrid will develop the common core and exchange architectures integrating the various IT systems under construction.
GrDF’s gas smart meter program aims at enhancing the performance of the distributor and the development of new customer services. Subject to final approval, the rollout of Gazpar smart meters will begin in 2015, with completion expected by 2022. The smart meters will provide GrDF customers with real time knowledge of their exact energy consumption, enabling them to monitor and control their energy bills more effectively. Verification and maintenance operations will be carried out without the need for the customer’s presence. It will also be easier and quicker to implement any changes required by the customer, for example concerning tariffs or services.
Atos Worldgrid has been involved in the architecture and framing of the program since 2010.
