Heat Pump Program launches smart grid project


Borås, Sweden —- (METERING.COM) — March 18, 2013 – The Heat Pump Program, an Implementing Agreement within the IEA Energy Technology Network, has recently launched a project on heat pumps in smart grids.

The project, Annex 42, is aimed at the gathering and dissemination of knowledge of heat pumps in urban areas. The focus will be on the domestic and light commercial building environment, and a time dependent energy demand analysis will be undertaken along with an investigation of the development possibilities.

In addition an inventory of information for dissemination will be made, as will an inventory of the critical success factors for the implementation smart grids and smart cities.

The project is led by the Netherlands. Other participating countries to date include Finland, Germany, South Korea and U.S.
