Bilbao and Madrid, Spain — (METERING.COM) — June 15, 2010 – Spanish utility Iberdrola and European citizen services group FCC have entered into a two-year agreement to promote the development of electric mobility in Spain.
Under the agreement, the two companies will set up three lines of work to foster the promotion of electric vehicles, including installing charging points, participating in electric mobility demonstrations in cities, and encouraging electric vehicle fleets.
Charging points will be established in car parks managed by FCC, and the two companies will supply electric fleets with the necessary infrastructure to companies at their offices. They also will carry out the necessary work to adapt the technical vehicle inspection centers to electric vehicles.
The companies also will exchange technical information on electric vehicles and share their acquired knowledge in future as this technology continues to evolve.
The agreement was signed on behalf of Iberdrola by Agustín Delgado, director of innovation, environment and quality, and on behalf of FCC by Eduardo González, managing director of FCC Energía.
