John Harris has been appointed as Vice President and Head of Regulatory Affairs for Europe at Landis+Gyr; the company plans to enhance its contribution to the environmental and energy policy debate.
Harris’ main role will be to act as the communications interface between Landis+Gyr and the legislators and other stakeholders across Europe regarding the environmental and energy policy debate as it relates to smart metering – a subject gaining increasing attention in the minds of policymakers and energy utility executives.
He comes to Landis+Gyr from E.ON Energie. He joined E.ON in Munich, Germany, in 2001, where he held positions in International Corporate Development/Merger & Acquisitions. Since 2002 he has been Energy Policy Advisor for E.ON based in Brussels. Previously he worked for the American-German Centre James-F. Byrnes-Institute in Stuttgart, Germany, before moving to Daimler Chrysler AG. He holds a degree in International Economics and European Studies.
