Skanderborg, Denmark --- (METERING.COM) --- May 17, 2011 - A new intelligent water meter, the MULTICAL® 21, is being introduced by Kamstrup with the aim of covering a whole range of different needs for water utilities.
The MULTICAL 21 combines metering intelligence, ultrasonic measuring, open standard communication, eco-friendliness, and the capability of being immersed in water without impairing the electronics.
“The most important thing to us has been to meet as many of a water supplier’s needs as possible,” says sales manager Per Trøjbo from Kamstrup, who is behind the new meter.
The MULTICAL 21 is of a simple and robust design, enshrining the most stable and well tested metering and communication technology. Using the ultrasound measuring principle, the MULTICAL 21 ensures precise registration of even the tiniest amount of water, thereby enabling a fair billing of consumed water and revenue protection for the supplier.
The MULTICAL 21 has a Wireless M-Bus module integrated and can be read with a handheld device or as part of an automatic metering system. An integrated alert system notifies of leakages and guards against costly repairs, and the battery lifetime is around 16 years.
