Luton, U.K. — (METERING.COM) — March 16, 2007 – Elster Elster Metering, part of the Elster Group, has unveiled its new Q050 Gulf water meter. It contains no moving parts, reducing the chances of blockage, and offers extremely low head loss. The electronics are capable of differentiating between air and water, ensuring that the meter only measures the water consumed. It is also able to measure both forward and reverse flows, which can be used for tamper detection and backflow prevention.
Elster’s marketing manager, Perry Shead, said: "As water becomes scarcer and more valuable we need increasingly accurate and reliable methods to measure it. We have done that and at a realistic price."
