Vallentuna, Sweden —(METERING.COM)— July 9, 2006 – Enermet, one of the world’s leading suppliers of energy metering and load management solutions, has signed an agreement with Nordic giants Fortum and Telenor Cinclus, respectively energy provider and telecommunications leader, to supply 150,000 GPRS-based meters. The agreement is part of an automatic meter management (AMM) project in which Fortum’s 835,000 meter points will be automated over the next two years.

GPRS, which is suited by nature for low volume data transfer, was chosen as the primary communication carrier because of the existing infrastructure and the good coverage available in the Nordic region.
