Oslo, Norway — (METERING.COM) — November 9, 2010 – Norwegian utility Hafslund has entered into a Letter of Intent with Process Vision Oy regarding delivery of a large meter data and meter asset management system based on the company’s GENERIS system platform.
The final system implementation will house subscribers’ meter data for electricity network owner.
Hafslund Nett with 540,000 subscribers is Norway’s largest utility company and the fifth largest utility company in the Nordic countries.
The Norwegian process for smart metering rollout (AMS), legislatively controlled by Norges vassdrags- og energidirektorat (NVE) is synchronized with the European standardisation process M/441. The final decision for AMS in Norway is expected to be taken during 2011.
With the implementation of the new meter data and meter asset management system, Hafslund Nett will be well prepared to manage the challenges with a nationwide smart metering rollout process.
“It has been important for us that the solution matches the new upcoming requirements which will arise in conjunction with the AMS,” commented Jens Auset, CEO of Hafslund Nett. “The implementation will be a large project for Hafslund, and we feel confident that in cooperation with the supplier we will be able to meet the challenges.”
