NRGi chooses eMeter MDM for large-scale smart grid project in Denmark

Gary Bloom,
CEO & President,
Aarhus, Denmark and San Mateo, CA, U.S.A. — (METERING.COM) — September 12, 2011 – NRGi, one of the largest consumer-owned energy companies in Denmark, has selected eMeter EnergyIP® meter data management platform to improve and scale its smart grid deployment to over 210,000 meters, the company has announced.

In partnership with infranet provider Eltel, eMeter will serve as part of NRGi’s framework for energy management in Europe.
The EnergyIP platform will further develop NRGi’s advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) integration, enabling functionality and integrating customer information for billing and synchronization within Eltel’s smart metering systems. NRGi’s platform shift to EnergyIP will allow rapid time-to-market for their aggressive smart meter deployment goals this year, including control and monitoring of low voltage networks for improved customer service and enabling end-to-end smart grid tariffs for distributed energy production. Additional applications that could be implemented on the platform include demand response, load quality, phase balance, and network aggregation.

"We are happy to welcome NRGi as our most recent customer," said Gary Bloom, eMeter CEO and president. "NRGi is the latest European utility harnessing information to ensure delivery and consumption of reliable, cost-effective and environmentally responsible energy."
