RWE SmartHome to get Android smartphone control

Dortmund, Germany — (METERING.COM) — March 19, 2013 – An Android app is to be launched shortly for control of the RWE SmartHome – alongside that already available for iPad and iPhone.

This follows a recent survey, in which customers indicated the importance and fun of being able to control their smart home and the need for an Android app. The app will shortly be available for free download.

The survey also indicated that about 90 percent of customers are satisfied – with one in five very satisfied – with the RWE SmartHome, which has been on the market for about two years. Customers were especially positive of the ease and intuitiveness of use, with its design and mobile access the most often mentioned advantages.

The most common applications used are the radiator thermostats for more comfort and energy savings, and the adapter plug for lighting and appliance control.

As a two-year “birthday” special RWE Effizienz is offering an almost €100 discount on the SmartHome up to the end of March.

The RWE SmartHome offers remote control of lighting, heating, blinds and appliances with a plug & play device.
