In Europe, global utilities software company Enoro and technology consultancy Capgemini have partnered to deliver smart grid services to customers in Austria.
The two companies will offer their joint services -Enoro’s GENERIS product for meter data management and its Smart Meter & Smart Grid Platform and Capgemini’s Smart Energy Services platform to customers including energy providers.
Klaus Schmid, CEO of Capgemini Austria, commented: “The utilities industry is undergoing rapid changes thanks to progress in smart metering, intelligent grids and a digital transformation of utility companies. We possess the right tools and knowledge to keep pace with these developments. By transforming your workflows in terms of digital governance, we can help you enhance visibility while fully servicing your customers.
“Our partnership with Enoro establishes an excellent basis for transforming existing energy management data and integrating newly gained data from the smart meter environment in order to meet the increasing demands by energy customers, face the growing ecological and sustainability pressure on utilities, ensure compliance and lower costs.”
Big meter data management
Enoro introduced its GENERIS Smart Energy Data Platform in October 2013.
One of the first European utilities to have deployed the platform was Finland’s FORTUM Distribution, which was named ‘Utility of the Year’ in 2013 at the European Smart Metering Awards in London, for its large-scale smart metering implementation, which was enabled by Enoro’s Smart Energy Data Management platform.
Commenting on the utility’s AMI rollout, Fortum’s smart metering manager Harri Hauta-aho said: “The recent introduction of Enoro’s new generation GENERIS Smart Energy Data Management solution proved to us that we chose the right platform for current challenging energy markets characterized by exploding data volumes and swiftly-changing market rules.”
Dino Kilcher, managing director and member of the board of directors of Enoro AG, concluded by saying: “The end-to-end solutions of Enoro can translate the challenges associated with a reduced consumption, market liberalization and fast growing data volumes into opportunities for taking the best possible business decisions.
“Enoro and Capgemini will together support energy companies in becoming more profitable and developing more sustainable and flexible business models.”
