In Europe, energy management specialist Schneider Electric has upgraded its cloud-based Energy Profiler Online solution, which claims to enhance customer engagement and energy efficiency using a single platform.
Schneider’s new version of its Energy Profiler Online solution allows commercial and industrial consumers to view detailed, accurate usage data and reduce energy costs through participation in demand response programmes.
The software, which can be integrated into a legacy grid infrastructure, allows utilities to blend customer engagement with the rest of the utility’s operations.
The Energy Profiler Online solution also integrates with electrical grid systems to enable Green Button connectivity, the US industry-led initiative implemented by utilities to give customers easy and secure access to usage information.
The product features a tablet-ready, user interface with HTML5 technology as well as automated demand response via OpenADR 2.0 signalling, near real-time data frequency supporting AMI systems and customer sub-meters, and bill estimation modelling for cost optimisation and DER project modelling.
The solution also forms the basis for other Schneider solutions such as remote building analytics, and advanced management system integration.
MV solutions showcased at Hannover Messe
The launch is part of a range of smart grid solutions released by the energy management giant this month.
At Hannover Messe, Schneider exhibited its solutions for medium-voltage distribution for grid networks
The global energy specialist demonstrated its new range of transformers (160 kVA to 1000 Kva), Minera SGrid, to help utilities enable the smart grid.
In addition, Schneider exhibited its new generation of medium switchgear, Premset, which features 2SIS technology. The modular Premset switchgear, designed for the smart grid, aims to enable greater efficiency through monitoring and control.
The company also introduced its solution that makes peak load management possible for new or installed gas-insulated MV switchgear – with an integrated communication interface integrated in each GIS switchgear panel.
Peak load management will assist the integration of renewable energy into the grid, transferring peak loads more efficiently during times of high fluctuation.
