Hamburg, Germany — (METERING.COM) — December 11, 2009 – Dr. Nieuhaus Telekommunikation GmbH’s smart gateway solution, the MUC controller with GPRS for smart metering, has been awarded a Vodafone Application Award 2009 in Germany.
The MUC-C solution for smart metering in households was voted into first place in the M2M category as the most innovative and pioneering M2M solution from a total of 60 entries. Vodafone Deutschland organizes this competition every year and presents the awards at its Innovation Days.
The MUC-C is an open, flexibly expandable software platform based on Linux, which allows the simple integration of a wide range of different meters, via local radio frequency, for example. GPRS, PLC or DSL is used to communicate the consumption data to the control centers. The device also includes an interface for the local integration of home control applications.
“We are highly pleased to receive this award,” commented Ludger Boeggering, head of marketing and product management at Dr. Neuhaus Telekommunikation GmbH. “It is a very convincing confirmation of the strategy we pursue to develop innovative and cutting edge as well as highly efficient communication solutions for a broad market.”
