Chicago, IL, U.S.A. — (METERING.COM) — March 22, 2012 – The German American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest, Inc. (GACCoM) is planning to take a group of utility executives and vendors from the U.S. to the Hannover Fair in Germany from April 23-26 to acquaint them with the latest developments in smart grid on show there.
The focuses include energy management systems, distribution management applications for distributed generation, electric mobility and charging infrastructure, energy storage devices on both commercial/industrial and residential scale, and solar and wind technology, with the latter including a visit to a 400-acre production and staging facility for offshore wind.
Participants will also be able to meet with experts from companies active in this industry and municipalities that can offer insight regarding smart grids efforts.
According to Dale Pennington, managing director of UtiliWorks Consulting, who is leading the visit, many of the new utility offerings at the Fair will be available in the U.S. within the next few years, and will have significant impact on utility operations and performance.
