UK ultrasonic sensor manufacturer Morgan Advanced Materials has invested in a new assembly cell to meet the demands of a growing global market for greater accuracy when measuring gas and water usage.

The facility at its production plant in the UK will increase capacity of the company’s range of high-sensitivity and high temperature stability ultrasonic flow sensors using lead zirconate titanate (PZT) materials.

Ewan Campbell, product manager at Morgan Advanced Materials, said: “This new facility has the capability of supplying products in volumes that will meet the demands of this rapidly growing market.

“We are currently experiencing a worldwide drive to install smart metering solutions in the residential sector, exemplified in the UK by British Gas’s project to have the latest metering technology in all homes by 2020.”
