Dublin, OH, U.S.A. — (METERING.COM) — January 23, 2007 – Accent Energy, an independent provider of electricity, natural gas and green power, has acquired the assets of Dynowatt, a retail electricity provider based in Houston, Texas. The company will operate as Dynowatt powered by Accent Energy, and will focus on providing electricity to residential customers in Texas.

"This acquisition enabled us to immediately establish ourselves as a residential electricity provider in Texas by leveraging Dynowatt, a known and respected name," said Lance Schneier, Accent Energy Chairman and CEO. "We were very impressed with the growth Dynowatt achieved in the highly competitive Texas market and their innovative programs for acquiring customers and maintaining customer satisfaction."

Accent Energy has served commercial customers in Texas for more than two years. With this acquisition, the company now becomes one of the larger independent retail electric providers in Texas.

Accent Energy began operations in January 2002 with 3,500 customers and today serves both natural gas and electricity customers in California, New York and Texas. It has roots dating back 25 years, when Schneier pioneered the idea of energy deregulation. He established Yankee Resources, Inc., often referred to as the first independent natural gas marketing company. Accent Energy attributes its growth to focusing on the customer experience and offering customers innovative choices to better manage their energy costs.
