Victoria, BC, Canada — (METERING.COM) — April 17, 2007 – Consultants Frost & Sullivan have given the 2007 Frost & Sullivan Award for Product Innovation for North America in the field of power quality and energy management solutions to Schneider Electric.
Schneider Electric acquired the Power Measurement company and its ION® technology in 2005, integrating them within its Power Monitoring and Control division. “This acquisition brought together two major forces in the power and energy management field,” said Prithvi Raj, Frost & Sullivan research analyst. “In total, this is the fourth award that the two companies have received from Frost & Sullivan in recognition of achievements in PQ and energy metering. The 2007 award recognizes Schneider Electric for its technological advancements and wide product range in this area.”
The award was given because of the impressive selection of PQ and energy management hardware and software offered by Schneider Electric. Specific innovations that were mentioned include the Power Measurement ION 8800 and 8600 energy and power quality meters – the world’s first Class 0.2 accuracy meters to be certified for measuring compliance with the IEC 61000-4-30 power quality standard. The web-enabled power management software products offered by the company were also mentioned as going “beyond the competition” in terms of helping users categorize and isolate power quality issues quickly.
Frost & Sullivan’s research is based on independent research and analysis with a company’s competitors, clients and other industry experts.
