C&I customers manage energy usage


Constellation NewEnergy, a subsidiary of Constellation Energy, has signed a contract with Itron Inc. to provide Itron’s Customer Care 5.0 software, which will help CNE’s commercial and industrial customers manage energy usage and costs.

CNE serves over 10,000 C&I customers in the US and Canada; the utility recently won the Edison Award for leadership in the competitive energy marketplace, Fortune Magazine’s 2005 award for one of America’s most admired companies, and was Platts Energy Company of the Year in 2004.

Built on Itron’s Enterprise Edition (IEE) platform, Itron Customer Care software offers energy providers a tool for delivering a higher level of service and value to large C&I accounts by putting metering-based data to work for the customer. For example, the software generates “what if” cost analysis reports so energy managers using Constellation NewEnergy Online can compare various rate and demand scenarios, helping them to manage energy as a controllable cost.
