Orlando, FL, U.S.A. — (METERING.COM) — March 23, 2010 – Central Vermont Public Service (CVPS) has selected Siemens Energy, Inc. to integrate eMeter Corporation’s EnergyIP™ meter data management system (MDMS) into the company’s IT framework in order to manage the metering data acquired through a prospective advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) deployment.
EnergyIP will be part of a larger CVPS SmartPower™ initiative that is being deployed to benefit CVPS’s 159,000 electric customers.
“We feel that the experience the project delivery team brings forth will enable a successful, timely and on-budget project,” commented Jeff Breslen, director of Application Development and Maintenance at CVPS.
EnergyIP should help CVPS enable the realization of SmartPower benefits in the areas of operational efficiency, increased distribution system reliability, energy conservation and peak load management, and higher customer satisfaction.
“We are pleased that CVPS has selected Siemens to implement eMeter’s EnergyIP system to assist them with their SmartPower initiative,” said Kevin O’Hara, vice president and general manager of Siemens Energy’s T&D Service Solutions. “Siemens feels that a meter data management system is essential in a smart grid project for CVPS to reap all the benefits that can be obtained.”
