St. Paul, MN., USA — (METERING.COM) — August 21, 2006 – The City of Richmond has today announced that it has selected Powel’s StakeOut software for its utility work, cost estimation, order management and field design. Powel is a leader in operational resource planning (ORP) solutions for utilities.
With StakeOut the utility will be able to efficiently manage and streamline its work order process and through mobile editing functions will be able to transfer essential geospatial information into the field.
Power Analyst for the City of Richland Mike Murray commented: “We needed to revamp our work order system. We required a tool to allow us to better track our estimates versus our actual charges versus our budgets. We now will have the visibility enterprise-wide to review our project estimates and actual costs and develop reports to validate them.”
Corey Maple, CEO of Powel Inc., said of StakeOut that it “is a very intuitive tool. Richland’s in-house engineers will be able to access information they need, right when they need it, quickly and easily. Our operational resource planning solutions are comprehensive, simple to use and deliver measurable operational improvement.”
The system will be implemented over the next nine months.
