Colorado Springs Utilities selects Ecologic MDMS

Colorado Springs, CO and Bloomington, MN, U.S.A. — (METERING.COM) — September 2, 2010 – Colorado Springs Utilities has selected Ecologic Analytics’ meter data management system (MDMS) to further enhance its local distribution network of more than 535,000 electric, gas and water endpoints for approximately 310,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers.

Implementation of the Ecologic MDMS expands the operational capabilities and benefits of Springs Utilities’ advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) system. Ecologic MDMS will support the utility in enhancing the information available for its electric, gas and water customers, and also builds on the smart grid and conservation initiatives already underway, including enabling customer energy management and distributed and renewable generation.
“We are looking forward to working closely with the Ecologic Analytics team,” said Pat Moyer, general manager of Springs Utilities Field Services, AMI and System Quality. “The Ecologic MDMS provides a proven solution with advanced capabilities and vision well suited for our overall Smart Grid goals.”

Colorado Springs Utilities is a municipal utility providing electricity, natural gas, water and wastewater services to the Pikes Peak region of Colorado.
