Envision Utility Software Corporation is pleased to announce that Sharp Community Energy in Austin, Texas, has selected Envision’s foCIS™ software as their new customer information and billing system. foCIS is a customer information system built on Oracle technology. The software enhances customer care for utilities by providing features such as unlimited billing, meter inventory, credit history, and multi-cycle billing in a multi-service environment. Envision implemented foCIS to bill for Sharp’s propane services.
Sharp Propane is the second largest propane distributor in Texas, currently serving over 15,000 customers. Sharp has recently moved into community systems and has contracts with over ten new developments in the greater Austin area. This growth resulted in creating a subsidiary called Sharp Community Energy, currently serving 500 customers and expected to grow to 15,000 over the coming years.
Sharp wanted to upgrade its existing billing software. The company needed a customer-based product that had greater flexibility in reporting capabilities, to take account of expected growth. The system’s ease of use and depth of features were important factors in Sharp’s selection process. Envision began the implementation almost a year ago, and Sharp delivered its first foCIS generated bills to customers in September. Envision is also providing services such as routine database maintenance and support, monthly billing and delinquency processing, and report generation.
