Georgia Power has contracted consumer engagement and integrated payments provider PayGo to provide its core prepay application services.

The PayGo solution comprises an integrated prepay program, which will leverage existing Georgia Power investments in smart grid and consumer technologies to provide consumers with additional payment flexibility and convenience.

The program will commence with an initial rollout later in 2014 in selected Georgia Power service areas. Customers living in these areas with a “smart meter” will be eligible to enroll in the program.

“PayGo is delighted to work with Georgia Power on such an innovative consumer initiative,” said David Elve, chief marketing officer for PayGo. “Energy prepayment solutions in the USA have driven higher customer satisfaction as well as energy conservation. We look forward to supporting Georgia Power’s efforts to deliver similar results as they leverage investments in the smart grid.”

Georgia Power provides electricity to 2.4 million customers in the state of Georgia.
