Smart meter customers will also enjoy the benefit of seeing how their households used energy and how much it cost, depending if it’s Off-Peak, Mid-Peak or On-Peak.
“Since Chatham-Kent was one of the first utilities on Ontario to offer smart meters, we are the first utility in Ontario to be able to offer to our customers the special service of tracking their energy usage, managing it better and subsequently saving money,” says Dave Kenney, President, Chatham-Kent Hydro.
“We are inviting our customers from all over Chatham-Kent to sign up for Go Figure before May 31,” says Matthew Meloche of Chatham-Kent Hydro. “You must sign up for this because you have to give us your email address. But even if you don’t sign up, we welcome you to join us for a free lunch to help us celebrate Conservation Week in Ontario.”
Conservation Week is part of a provincial government initiative to encourage Ontario energy consumers to reduce their energy consumption by 6,300 Megawatts by 2025. That is the equivalent of taking one-in-five electricity power consumers off the grid.
