Acton, ON, Canada — (METERING.COM) — March 16, 2009 – Acton, Ontario-based Halton Hills Hydro has announced that it will start installing smart meters in all residences and small businesses in its community in April.
The company’s smart metering project, part of the Ontario smart meter initiative, will involve changing approximately 20,000 meters in Halton Hills by the end of 2010.
“Smart meters will give our customers the ability to take control of their energy use,” said Arthur Skidmore, chief operating officer of Halton Hills Community Energy Corporation. “This is a major step towards creating a culture of sustainability in Halton Hills.”
