Northbrook, IL, USA — (METERING.COM) — August 20, 2006 – The AMRA, a nonprofit association providing utilities with information about innovative technologies that lead to improved operations, customer service and resource utilization, has been tracking states in the U.S. that are considering smart metering. There are at least ten states in this position, whose investigations are being driven by high seasonal demand and the initiatives suggested under the “smart metering” section of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (EPACT).

At Autovation 2006, AMRA’s annual symposium, which will be held in Nashville, Tennessee this October, the association will cover the EPACT and other smart metering topics.
