Akron, OH, U.S.A. — (METERING.COM) — September 25, 2007 – FirstEnergy Corp., a diversified energy company whose subsidiaries and affiliates are involved in the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity, as well as energy management and other energy-related services, has introduced MeterProfile, a web-based service that can help businesses analyse their energy usage to build an informed energy strategy. The MeterProfile service uses advanced interval electric meters that collect data on a facility’s energy consumption patterns and energy peaks. Subscribers can access the data on an easy-to-navigate secure web site, where the information is displayed in useful graphs and tables that show consumption trends and power factors.
The new MeterProfile software provides businesses with site-to-site or month-to-month comparisons, and the ability to view monthly, daily or hourly profiles and download data. It can help businesses gain a better understanding of how their facilities use electricity, and create a strategy to help control energy usage and costs.
"The information available through the MeterProfile web site will help commercial and industrial customers make informed decisions with regard to how they operate their electrical equipment," said Thomas A. Clark, FirstEnergy’s vice president of Customer Service and Service Area Development.
