Allentown, PA, U.S.A. — (METERING.COM) — November 8, 2007 – PPL Electric Utilities is offering customers the opportunity to see how much energy they are using on a daily basis, through the company’s Energy Analyzer web page. The initiative forms part of PPL Electric Utilities’ e-power program, giving customers information about their energy usage so that they are able to understand their consumption patterns and – if necessary – change these patterns to save on costs.

The company’s recent introduction of smart meters has made the initiative possible, and in due course it plans to make the information available on an hourly, as opposed to daily basis. It is encouraging customers to sign up for the service now, and to take steps to introduce energy efficiency improvements in a bid to avoid large rate hikes in the future.

Other features offered by the Energy Analyzer include the ability on the part of customers to analyze their homes in detail. It also offers customized energy-saving tips and estimates of potential savings, and helps users make the best energy decisions depending on the type of home and their budget.

PPL Electric Utilities Corporation is a subsidiary of PPL Corporation and provides electricity delivery services to 1.4 million customers in Pennsylvania.
