Atlanta, GA and Pequot Lakes, MN, U.S.A. — (METERING.COM) — July 30, 2007 – This summer Hunt Technologies and Cellnet are combining their business operations in a move that will enable customers of both companies to receive the broadest range of advanced metering solutions and support available for electric, gas and water utilities. The resulting new company brings together the experience gained from deploying 20 million advanced metering endpoints using multiple technology options including PLC, RF and RF mesh networks, and the resources and support of more than 700 employees.

“The combination of these companies and technologies will provide our customers with the widest range of proven and cost-effective solutions in the market,” said CEO David Slump. “Each company offers technology and services that will benefit the combined customer bases well into the future.”

Headquartered in Atlanta, the new organization will utilize the current Hunt Technologies office in Pequot Lakes, MN, as its center of excellence for cooperative and public power customers. Todd Headlee, current CEO of Hunt Technologies, is leading the product management organization within the new company while managing the Pequot Lakes office.

“The integration will provide our customers with enhanced resources for technology, software and services,” said Headlee. “It positions us to meet our goal of becoming the global leader in advanced metering technology.”

Along with Hunt’s PLC, RF mesh and mobile AMR solutions, Cellnet adds fixed network RF technologies for electric, water and gas, and RF mesh solutions for AMI and SCADA applications. The combined solution set offers utilities a single source for complete smart grid technology.

The new company structure will be announced in the fall.
