Idaho Power enters AMI agreement


Boise, ID, U.S.A. — (METERING.COM) — September 25, 2008 – Idaho Power Company has entered into an agreement with Landis+Gyr for the supply of 450,000 advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) residential FOCUS(TM) meters.

The value of the contract is approximately $10 million and the system is expected to be deployed for Idaho Power customers in Idaho and Oregon over a three-year period beginning in early 2009.

Mark Heintzelman, Idaho Power project manager said: "Utilizing Landis+Gyr meters equipped with TWACS communications modules enables direct two-way communication between Idaho Power and our customer meters. This technology provides timely electricity usage information, helping our customers understand and manage how their homes and businesses use energy."
