International Battery and Energy Storage Alliance founded


Bonn, Germany and Orlando, FL, U.S.A. — (METERING.COM) — May 2, 2013 – The International Battery and Energy Storage Alliance (IBESA) for providers of battery and electrical energy storage solutions in the photovoltaic sector has been founded by Markus A.W. Hoehner, CEO of market research company EuPD Research, and Bryan D. Ekus, managing director of the International PV Equipment Association (IPVEA).

The new alliance plans to support and enable cooperation between companies from the fields of solar energy production, electrical energy storage and smart grid technologies. Together, it is intended the members will create access to professional resources, market intelligence, new networks, and emerging markets.

“A strong, industry-wide alliance of global players like the IBESA is crucial in order to unify the fragmented electrical energy storage and smart grid markets, as well as to prepare and sustainably position them for the future,” said Hoehner.

“The international alliance is based on cooperation between various branches and the exchange between IPVEA and new IBESA members,” added Ekus. “Our established goal is to promote the photovoltaics and electrical energy storage market and provide real benefits for our member companies.”

According to the founding statement Ekus provides comprehensive experience and knowledge in promoting the interests of and working within associations and industry networks, while Hoehner brings more than 10 years of business experience within the solar energy branch and other areas of the renewable business sector.

Membership of IBESA is aimed at companies in the photovoltaic, battery and solar storage sectors, as well as energy providers, municipal utilities, installers, consulting firms and banks.
