Introducing choice into the RF AMR market

Hunt Technologies Inc. and Landis+Gyr Inc. expect to release the radio frequency-based AirPoint FOCUS endpoint for use with Itron mobile AMR systems in September 2005. This new endpoint combines ERT-compatible RF technology manufactured by Hunt Technologies with the Landis+Gyr solid state FOCUS® meter. The AirPoint module accesses data via direct register reads from the meter, and then transmits usage and demand data to a drive-by or walk-by transceiver.

Hunt’s AirPoint technology provides the same features and functions as the Itron ERT and is designed to interface with the Itron Mobile Collection System 1.0 and 2.0, as well as off-site collection systems. The AirPoint FOCUS provides a competitive option for utilities with a new or existing Itron system. / /
