Kentucky utility issues tender for AMI and meter data system


In the US, the state of Kentucky’s largest municipal electric and water supplier Owensboro Municipal Utilities (OMU) is requesting proposals for a data collection and control system to communicate with electric meters, water meters, load management switches, and other distribution devices through an AMI and meter data management system.

Interested parties are requested to submit one original, one copy and two flash drives of bid proposals to Louise Keach, OMU Purchasing department at 1531 East 4th street, Owensboro, Kentucky, 42303, USA, not later than 19 November, 2015 (2:00pm CST).

Owensboro Municipal Utilities

Owned by the Owensboro municipality, OMU delivers water, electricity and telecommunication services to 26,000 electric customers, 24,000 water customers and 160 telecommunication customers in Owensboro-Daviess county.

In 2012, the utility launched the Distribution Interconnection Policy through which OMU supports customers connecting to their own residential renewable energy sources (5MW and under) while still maintaining connection to the utility’s distribution system.
