Magnolia, TX, U.S.A. — (METERING.COM) — April 25, 2007 – The Peak Load Management Alliance (PLMA) has announced the winners of their 2006 Demand Response Annual Awards.

The presentations of the Awards were made at the PLMA Annual Awards Luncheon during the PLMA Spring Conference in Toronto, Canada, April 17-18, 2007.

The awards recognize outstanding achievements and innovations in load management during the year 2006 and were made as follows:

Outstanding Achievement in Demand Response: Commonwealth Edison, for its development of a suite of demand response programs and its pioneering role in DR efforts.

Outstanding Achievement by an End-User: Pathmark Stores, for their efforts in aggregating demand response in over 70 of their supermarkets and achieving a demand reduction of 177% of their targeted demand, and CB Richard Ellis, for overcoming the barriers inherent with rental property participation in demand response programs.

Outstanding Achievement by a Curtailment Service Provider: EnerNOC, for its success in delivering demand response results to the New England market.

Innovative Application of Technology: Long Island Power Authority, LIPAEdge, for pioneering the use of two-way communication thermostat technologies.

Innovative Program Design: Portland General Electric, Dispatchable Standby Generation program, for its uniqueness in utilizing customer owned generation through paralleling switchgear to maximize generation output and cost effectiveness.

“There are a lot of innovative and creative load reduction programs and studies being operated this year, and these awards highlight the outstanding efforts in this field,” said Elliot Boardman, Executive Director of PLMA.
