LODESTAR Sponsors 30th Annual CIS Conference

Peabody, Massachusetts – April 24, 2006 – LODESTAR Corporation, a leading provider of energy software solutions, announced today its sponsorship of the 30th Annual CIS Conference organized by CIS Conference, Inc. The event is an educational forum for utilities throughout the world and takes place May 2-5 in Gaylord, Texas. In addition to sponsoring and exhibiting at the show, LODESTAR will also have significant presence on the CIS Conference agenda.

The CIS Executive Summit is a two-day forum for senior-level participants to share experiences and insight on particular session topics. As one of only four vendors participating in the CIS Executive Summit, Chris Hamilos, CEO and Chairman of LODESTAR will moderate the session entitled “Invest in AMR.” Exclusively for CIOs and VPs, this interactive session focuses on exploring types of AMR, business case benefits and best practices for a successful transition of an AMR system. Increasingly, CIOs are faced with determining the appropriate AMR strategy, and subsequently are confronted with the challenges of evaluating and implementing AMR.

On May 4th, LODESTAR’s Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, Shawn D. Fountain, will present “The Evolution of Meter Data Management and Dynamic Pricing on CIS Solutions” in the Strategies and Trends Workshop at the conference. Mr. Fountain will provide participants with an overview of the major Smart Metering initiatives, defining AMR, Smart Metering, MDM, and Dynamic Pricing. The benefits and costs of Smart Metering will be explored along with their impacts on the functional and technical requirements of MDM and CIS. The presentation will also drill into more detail on Dynamic Pricing as it compares to other pricing approaches, and specific data requirements for different Dynamic Pricing approaches will be illustrated.

LODESTAR will be at booth number 211 and representatives will be pleased to share information on site with those interested in speaking about LODESTAR’s suite of products.
