Malnight to oversee customer care at PG&E


Pacific Gas and Electric Company has appointed Steve Malnight as vice president of integrated demand side management within the utility’s customer care organization.

Malnight, who will report to senior vice president and chief customer officer Helen Burt, will be responsible for overseeing customer energy efficiency programs, development of new customer products and services, and customer outreach efforts.

Malnight joined PG&E Corporation in 2002 as an associate in the company’s MBA Leadership Program. Since that time, he has held leadership roles at the corporation and the utility as director of customer strategy, senior director of finance, and special assistant to the chairman. He was named vice president, renewable energy, in May 2009, in which role he oversaw PG&E’s renewable generation ownership opportunities, renewable strategy, and investigation of emerging clean technology, and led the company’s $1.5 billion solar photovoltaic program.

Malnight holds a bachelor’s of science in chemical engineering from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
