Kearny, NJ, U.S.A. — (METERING.COM) — September 12, 2007 – National Metering Services, Inc., an international meter installation contractor specializing in the water industry, has announced an expansion of the products and services it offers clients.

The company is now offering security systems that include cameras and motion detecting devices, using Tropos as the backhaul, to complement its Tropos MetroMesh Wi-Fi systems. Its meter testing division has certified portable meter testers for field testing, along with a custom-built mobile test lab equipped with a state-of-the-art 20 position test bench. This allows it to perform new meter accuracy verification and exit testing at customers’ premises. It also now also able to offer vacuum excavating, curb box cleaning, manhole and meter pit cleaning, along with valve exercising, thanks to the addition of a Vac-Tron to its fleet.

Global Positioning System (GPS) service is available to accurately record the location of key assets such as valves, meter boxes, fire hydrants, and manholes.

National Metering Services is now a master reseller of composites lids and manhole covers that can greatly exceed US DOT H-20 capacity standards, in any shape – rectangle, oval, or round – and any size, 8” to 80”. Composite lids offer many benefits to customers by being lightweight and durable. They are also an important part of AMR system deployments, where existing cast iron meter box lids need to be replaced.
