Two wholly-owned subsidiaries of Emera Inc, Nova Scotia Power and Bangor Hydro-Electric, have signed a seven-year outsourcing contract with CGI Group Inc, for business process services. CGI will assume responsibility for all infrastructure services, including data centre, help desk, network and desktop services.
Both Nova Scotia Power and Bangor Hydro-Electric are regulated utilities, and thus need to deliver power reliably and cost-effectively. They believe they have found an IT partner that will provide them with solutions to remain competitive. CGI employs some 350 professionals in Atlantic Canada.
