Paul De Martini promoted to vice president at Southern California Edison

The Southern California Edison (SCE) Board of Directors has promoted Paul De Martini to vice president. De Martini will oversee the company’s new Advanced Technologies organization, a group of engineers, scientists and technicians working to realize SCE’s goal of a smart electric grid. The group will combine electric transportation, advanced transmission and distribution engineering, and smart meter technologies.

De Martini continues to lead Edison SmartConnect, the company’s award-winning program to replace millions of traditional electric meters within SCE’s 50,000-square-mile service area with smart meters that will provide customers with new pricing options and information about their electricity usage to help them conserve energy and save money.

De Martini joined SCE in 2002. Before that he was a vice president at ICF International, an energy and environmental consulting firm. He also held senior management positions with Sempra Energy, and before that Pacific Gas and Electric Co.

De Martini holds an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of San Francisco. He also is a Wharton Fellow, University of Pennsylvania.
