Peter Batty has joined Enspiria® Solutions, Inc. as Chief Technical Advisor. The company provides consulting and implementation solutions aimed at improving the integration of operational, asset performance, customer service, and energy efficiency systems for the utility, government and cable sectors. He will work closely with the Enspiria® Research and Development Team, as well as the Enterprise GIS Consulting and Delivery Project Teams, defining and guiding the technical direction of Enspiria to ensure continued benefits to its clients. He also continues to be President of Spatial Networking, a startup company focused on combining location and social networking.
Batty’s previous roles included Chief Technology Officer of Intergraph, co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Ten Sails (now Ubisense), and VP of Technology at Smallworld (now part of GE Energy). He has also been a member of the GeoWorld magazine Editorial Advisory Board since 1996, has published many articles and spoken at many conferences around the world. He has been involved with industry standards efforts, including the Open GIS Consortium and IEC TC57 Working Group 14, and is currently a member of the Board of GITA. He has a Masters degree in computer science from Oxford University and a BA in Mathematics, also from Oxford.
