Greenlots EV chargers will be installed in Ford’s FordPass Charging network.
The Charging Network will be launched in 2020 and will allow Ford EV drivers to charge seamlessly across all the major charging networks in the US and select regions in Canada.
The network is the first of its kind rollout in the EV market and is to accelerate the adoption of electrified transportation across North America.
EV drivers will be able to use a new app to map EV chargers, access demand response capabilities and wide range of services.
For instance, drivers will be able to access the vehicle’s on-screen dashboard without needing to sign up separately for individual network apps or memberships.
Ford’s FordPass mobile app will be integrated with Greenlots’ open standard platform to come up with the new app.
Greenlots’ SKY™ EV Charging Network Software balances grid demand and enables station owners to integrate renewable energy and storage assets onsite.
Harmeet Singh, CTO at Greenlots said: “This new programme will not only provide easy charging accessibility to Ford customers but will also serve as a blueprint to help evolve the entire EV industry in a coordinated and uniform way.
“Integration of the Ford and Greenlots technology platforms within the FordPass app will provide a seamless and integrated EV charging experience, as well as push forward the commercialization and widespread adoption of emerging EV charging standards and technologies. Through this program, the EV charging industry is more unified than ever — a huge win for current and future EV drivers.”
