US smart grid communications company Trilliant has launched its Open Smart Device Interface (OSDI) partner programme in Asia, ahead of Asian Utility Week, taking place in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia this week.

Trilliant, a Silicon Valley-based company with a strong presence in Asia and Europe, aims to facilitate the adoption of its smart grid communications solutions by device manufacturers.

First smart grid partner

The company announced this week that smart meter manufacturer EDMI is an inaugural member of the OSDI Partner programme, joining with the objective of bringing optimal end-to-end solutions to the market.

Lee Kwang Mong, group managing director at EDMI, said: “[The programme] will allow us to bring end-to-end solutions to our customers, including the leading unlicensed RF mesh solution together with our cellular solutions, thereby reducing the deployment risk and ensuring optimal benefits.”

“This allows us to bring the Trilliant 2.4GHz RF mesh platform together with the industry’s best end devices to our utility customers to realise the benefits of smarter grids for their operations, consumers and societies.”

Trilliant will be exhibiting at booth 0034 at Asian Utility Week in Kuala Lumpur, August 5-6.
